The high level of artistry and craftsmanship, which many have come to associate with the US Mint, is demonstrated in the detailed engraving of each image. The personification of Liberty is portrayed on the front side of the coin as she holds a pile of branches in one hand and extends the other in an inviting gesture. This illustration represents the abundance of hope and opportunities that the US holds for all who come here.

The reverse side features the Great Seal of the US. This emblem, which has become the unofficial coat of arms for our country, is composed of a bald eagle and a shield. In its talons, it clutches an olive branch and set of arrows as a symbol of our government’s duty to protect and ensure the peace in this country. The patriotic imagery on this coin reflects our nation’s core beliefs and values, making it a beautifully compelling piece of Americana.
